He also conducts litigation before state courts and in arbitration proceedings, structures and negotiates corporate investments, advises on legal management issues, drafts cross-border supply, development and cooperation agreements, and advises on distribution and joint venture structures.
In restructuring, he covers the spectrum from equity and debt capital to covenants and distressed M&A to preventive and insolvency-related restructuring instruments – including restructuring mediation and StaRUG proceedings. He also represents clients in disputes, including interim legal protection and complex shareholder and organ disputes.
He is fluent in German and English.

Prof. Dr. Daniel Graewe is a partner at MARTIUS.
He has been practising law for over 15 years, including at major international law firms in Hamburg, London and Munich. He is also a Senior Visiting Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley. Daniel Graewe studied law (Dr. jur.) and political science (Dipl.-Pol.) in Germany, Switzerland, the USA and Japan. He then obtained his doctorate in law (Dr. iur.) at the University of Cologne on a topic in the field of corporate governance. He also completed an LL.M. programme with a focus on Japanese law, writing a comparative law master's thesis on hostile takeovers in Germany and Japan. He is also Director of the Institute for Applied Business Law (WIRE) at the HSBA Hamburg School of Business Administration.
Professor Graewe has published several legal textbooks and teaching materials as well as numerous specialist articles in renowned journals. In addition, he is currently editor of the trade journals ‘SanierungsBerater (SanB)’, ‘Zeitschrift für Nachhaltigkeit und Recht (ESGZ)’ and ‘DAS MANDAT’, as well as a member of the scientific advisory board of the journal ‘Rüstung, Sicherheit & Recht (RüSIR)’. He is cited by many standard legal works and by courts in the areas of private law, commercial and corporate law, and restructuring and insolvency law. He also gives regular lectures and was the nationwide director of the specialist lawyer training course in commercial and corporate law at Fachseminare von Fürstenberg for almost ten years.
